800 words about being unique as an FCM student

Faculty of Creative Multimedia is designed for people who realize that by understanding the technology, they have the power to transform their professions. This faculty gives us options so we can add value to any career, bet it in the public, not for profit or commercial sector. All of the multimedia courses cover on the ground studio practice in systems and web development, digital imaging and design and are backed up with units that tackle the broader issues driving the multimedia revolution. In these majoring, we are needed to include a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video, and interactivity content forms into a digital creativity. Basically in creative industries, multimedia is used for a variety of purposes ranging from fine arts, to entertainment, to commercial art, to journalism, to media and software services provided for any of the industries listed below. 

A student has to enhance the skills range from technical, to analytical, to creative which may cover the spectrum throughout their career. As we all know, these field of studies is important as the Internet lies in the way in which information is linked. Creative multimedia is also requires a completely new approach to writing. The style of writing that is appropriates for highly optimized and designed to be able to be quickly scanned by readers. Thus, a good site must be made with a specific purpose in mind and a site with good interactivity and new technology can also be useful to attract visitors. The site must be attractive and innovative in its design, function in terms of its purpose and easy to navigate. People might think as a multimedia student, we only concentrate on multimedia stuff but actually, we have to enhance through individual skills in the preferred areas, such as journalism, public relations, media studies and media production for globally recognized professional qualifications, underpinned by educational innovations, strategic research of regional significance and international quality, as well as professional industry and community involvement. Besides, there are four major identities which identify us as a creative multimedia student which are; our lifestyle, fashion, emotions and characters.

 We are much difference and unique than the others. The fact is, it is impossible for us to wake up at 8 am in the morning for class and to be sure, as an FCM student we are not ashamed to drool in class. We seldom enjoy watermelon juices or healthy drink because basically we are the main money providers for Coca Cola Company, coffee and Red Bulls. Those drink are not a treat, they are our tools to stay up and stay awake to finish the assignments. We rarely have time to sleep and we bet, you can give us CDs and we can listen to all you CDs in 48 hours. Besides, our laptops and PCs never shut down and we are rarely seen in public. We lose our keys for a week, and we never realized. The good thing is; we combine our breakfast, lunch, dinner into a single meal. When the holiday is around the corner, we seldom enjoy our trip to Pulau Redang or even freely jogging to Cyberpark; we see it as an extra sleeping time. When we see any interesting images or pictures, we will ask about the human scale, the lighting, the camera brand and the angle. We are very good in Adobe Photoshop, Maya and creating a web page is on our hands but unfortunately, we do not know how to instruct basic Microsoft Excel. Girlfriend and boyfriend are not an issue and not important anymore when busy get on our nerves with dateline of submission. Sometimes, we forget the meaning of sleeping. When we run out of ideas, we will be stone, blur and wasting time is impossible. The last thing to think about in 24 hours in life is sleeping and. Also, we waste a lot of our money to buy expensive stuff in our life but into shoes and clothes; it’s for our PC or laptop, softwares, cameras and art stuff. Tragically, there are no differences between day and night.

 The point here is, being unique among any other six billions human beings on this earth. All of us like to feel that we are in some way unique individuals. The way we dress, the cars we drive, the way we think and talk and the things we do help us define our uniqueness. Everyone on the street wanted to be the same, but it is about how we judge each other, from the things we like to the clothes we wear. We learn not to get upset when other people judge us. Just because we like or do different things, we should not let other people sway us away from our dreams. Being unique is about communication; we have to focus on the importance of communication which we need to listen and learn. Reminding ourselves that when we choose to understand someone better, we never know what we will discover. We may like the same things but we are always a bit different. Thus, as and art student, we learn to become truly be a friend to someone is to accept their differences and similarities. We see no similarities in art, so do we. As Eleanor Roosevelt says, “Since everybody is an individual, nobody can be you. You are unique. No one can tell you how to use your time. It is yours. Your life is your own. You mold it. You make it.”

When lecturer asked to draw something in order to portray Bill Gates, of course what I ( maybe We ) think about him is a monitor with Windows logo. :P

I said so because I saw my friends drew monitor with that logo. I changed my mind. And I came out with idea which portrayed Bill Gates as torchlight.

Haha its like portraying teacher as candle when we were in school, " Guru ibarat lilin yang membakar dirinya untuk menerangi jalan orang lain", yeah something like that I guess. But torchlight will make him more cooler.

The eye - people's vision to the future become clearer and wider when computer be a part of our daily life.

Creative image of your friend

I love this week class. I am totally in love with Sir Ahmad Radzi’s lectures about creative studies. We have these game (or practically activity) where we have to visualize our friend. Yes, I was sitting next to Ashraf Azlan, and I asked him a few questions (damn, he is single, LADY!). He always smile, never think that he ‘is’ a good-looking guy, addicted to Coke, believe that he owns a super-extra-ordinary-ability, hate chaotic people & environment and fault. Well, he is a good friend of mine; I visualized himself as a SUPERHERO. Can you believe that? HAHAHAHAH. Eventhough I draw that so-called-Superhero really bad, but I think he might touched by seeing that, though. AshrafAzlan the Superhero v.v P.S: Sir, rocks!

simple, clear message, and ...

i had read trough the notes and found a quote ;

"the best way to predict the future is to help create it"

>>i totally agree with the quote, because in other word its sound like this, some of today's success are caused by yesterday's solutions. If someone want to achieve something in the future e.g ambition or live partner, then he or she must do something to get the whatever his or her dreams. So, the best way to know whether success or not(predict the future), is by looking on the effort and action that has been taken whether do something towards it or not.

Previously..i got email from my sister are really impressed me..Because this email are contain very interesting and wonderful pictures..I think I never saw the creative thing as a pictures like this before. I'm so proud of their creative ideas and the creativity that they produced. Therefore, I save it on my folder for a long time to be as my reference and my inspirations …but while doing this blog journey, I would like to share with all my friend and lectures…. Maybe most you, already seen this before… This picture based on painting at hand, and the hand reaction..

Creative

Creativity comes from the word creative which marked by the ability or power to create. It is the degree of excellence of being creative. According to this site, Linda Naiman defined creativity as..

"I define creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea. If you have ideas, but don't act on them, you are imaginative but not creative."

And according to Rollo May

“Creativity is the process of bringing something new into being...creativity requires passion and commitment. Out of the creative act is born symbols and myths. It brings to our awareness what was previously hidden and points to new life. The experience is one of heightened consciousness–ecstasy.”

Dan bagi saya. kreativiti merupakan satu kata yang tidak mudah untuk dikenalpasti maksudnya. Pelbagai manusia mempunyai citarasa masing-masing. Bak kata pepatah Melayu "Rambut sama hitam, hati lain-lain". Kreatif boleh dilihat pada pelbagai bentuk, tidak kira penulisan, melukis sehinggalah perlakuan. Apa yang saya ingin nyatakan disini ialah, apa yang kita laksanakan itu sendiri ialah kreatif. Dengan erti kata lain, melakukan sesuatu. Dan memang betul apa yang diperkatakan Linda Naiman dan Rollo May berkenaan kreativiti, iaitu menghasilkan sesuatu yang baru. Penghasilan sesuatu itulah membuatkan kita kreatif.

Process of assignments

We started to cooperate with each other in finishing the assignments that we have to consult week by week with out lecturers. The good thing here is, we start to tolerate about the topic, adjusting time for meeting and helping each other. Basically, the spirit of team works was obviously seen and this is the start for us to prepare ourselves for the future.

We are about on our final project and we are from group "Unique as we speak" have to create a new weblog page and compile all of our group members' previous reports.
